Rachel Cuevas is the proud daughter of a military family. Her father served in the Army for 20 years and her mother served in the Air Force. After her father’s retirement from the armed services, her family settled in Bath, Pennsylvania, where her father struggled to find work despite his long record of military service.

This experience impacted Rachel in several ways. She saw how local leaders stepped up to help her family, which taught her the value of public service. She grew up seeing how difficult it was for families like hers to stretch a dollar, which instilled in her a strong desire to empower working people. And it gave her a deep commitment to helping veterans and people from nontraditional backgrounds find work where they can support their family and thrive.

Rachel settled in Alburtis with her husband and two children and worked hard to become a decorated HR professional at Amazon and Boston Beer, where she helped veterans, women, folks without a high school diploma, and people from all walks of life find meaningful employment.

Now, she sees how the rising cost of living is making it harder for families like hers to make ends meet. Politicians in Harrisburg are turning their back on working people while groceries, gas, utilities, and housing all get more expensive — so Rachel is running for State Representative to get to work with both parties to ease the burden on working families, expand access to affordable healthcare and household basics. She will work to protect Lehigh County from price-gouging corporations, big box warehouses, and data centers that raise prices and damage our quality of life.
